Polystyrene (PS) is a polymer synthesized from styrene monomer via free-radical addition polymerization, with the chemical formula (C8H8)n. It is a colorless, transparent thermoplastic with a glass transition temperature exceeding 100°C. Characterized by excellent thermal insulation, electrical insulation, and transparency, it is widely used in applications such as acrylics, ABS resins, electronics and electrical appliances, and other engineering plastics.

PRODUCT USAGE

Packaging: Used to manufacture foam boxes, food containers, CD/DVD cases, cosmetic containers, and food packaging trays; expanded polystyrene (EPS) offers excellent cushioning and shock-absorption properties.

Building Insulation: EPS and XPS foam boards are widely used for wall, roof, underfloor heating, and cold storage insulation; XPS offers higher compressive strength, making it suitable for heavy-load applications such as airport runways.

Electronics and Appliances: Used to manufacture housings for appliances like televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioners, as well as components such as instrument panels, lamp shades, high-frequency capacitors, and connectors.

Consumer Goods and Medical: Used to produce everyday items such as toys, stationery, combs, and tableware; in the medical field, it is used for syringe barrels, reagent bottles, and disposable medical equipment.
