In the textile and paper industries, it is used as a bleaching agent for fabrics and a decolorizing agent for paper. Additionally, it is used for disinfecting tableware and kitchen utensils in homes and restaurants, as well as for cleaning food processing equipment. Its advantages include high available chlorine content, good stability, and low cost, but caution is required due to its strong corrosiveness and the risk of releasing toxic chlorine gas when in contact with acids.
